Norandino, CCA's partner in this project, has already achieved considerable success in producing and marketing fair trade, organic coffee, cocoa and panela (cane sugar) which is contributing to improved livelihoods in a very poor region of Peru. The Canadian worker co-operative, La Siembra, is among their main international business partners. 

Peru: Sustainable Product Diversification

This project seeks to improve and increase Norandino's capacity to produce, process, and market export quality fair trade organic coffee, cocoa, and panela (cane sugar)  Training and technical assistance are provided to strengthen the organizational and institutional capacity of Norandino and its associated primary associations and agricultural
co-operatives.
 
The project also aims to develop the local market with new products as part of the commercial initiatives developed by and for Norandino's women's members. These activities will bring more opportunities to the members to sell their products which will improve incomes and their quality of life.
